Festy Partners with Three Notch’d To Brew FestyWeizen

The Festy, Charlottesville’s very own world-class music festival, is teaming up with Three Notch’d Craft Kitchen & Brewery to brew Festyweizen, an American wheat beer that will be available at The Festy, and starting in September, in all places that Three Notch’d cans are currently sold.

Festyweizen is the brainchild of a collaboration between Dave Warwick, Three Notch’d Head Brewmaster, and the co-founders of the Festy.  Warwick developed the recipe with inputs from the co-founders and their friends, and decided to create an American wheat beer with agave, orange peel, and coriander.  Brew day is Wednesday, August 7 at 11am, and all are welcome to attend – snacks and refreshments will be served.

The Festy, which is celebrating its 10th year this year, has moved from the site of Lock’n in rural Nelson County and will take place this year in downtown Charlottesville at the site of IX Art Park and Three Notch’d Brewery, on Columbus Day weekend, October 11th-13th.  The festival features 19 world-class bands from blues to bluegrass, reggae to rock & roll, including national acts Dawes, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Samantha Fish, Langhorne Slim, Della Mae, Anders Osborne, Rubblebucket, Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad, Kendall Street Company, and many more.

The Festy is family-friendly, and features a giant kids zone and on-site child care, along with craft beer and cider, Virginia wine and artisanal spirits, local food trucks, and a full slate of wellness programming including yoga, guided meditations, mindfulness workshops, massage, and more.  The Festy is also environmentally-friendly, and focuses on being zero waste and carbon neutral.

Tickets are on sale now for $119 for three full days of music and mindfulness, and include discounts to 30+ local businesses for the duration of the festival.  Prices go up August 12! Kids 12 and under get in free. There will be no on-site camping or parking this year, but the Festival will provide free off-site parking and free continuous shuttles all weekend long from Fifth Street Station, as well as discounts to local hotels, homestays, and campgrounds.
