Does The Festy offer children’s tickets?

Children 12 & Under are Free at The Festy Experience.  We’ve got to introduce them to the good things in life early, you know. People ages 13 and over will need a camping ticket or a single-day ticket.

Am I permitted to leave the concert grounds/campground and return?

Yes, however no “tailgating” is permitted in the day parking lots as it outside the ABC area.  If you plan to leave the campground, keep this in mind as you park and you may need to communicate with your neighbors to ensure there is a clear and unobstructed exit path.

ALWAYS keep your wristband on.  Treat it like cash.

Do you have ADA parking / camping?

Accommodations are available for ADA Camping. Registration is required and a State issued handicap permit must be presented to access this area.  A Festy Experience camping ticket purchase is required to pre-register for ADA Camping.  ADA camping registration may be submitted here. If you require ADA day parking, please have your decal visible and let the parking attendants know when you arrive.

When will the the lineup be released?

Soon…ish. In good time. Don’t worry. We’ll let you know when it’s up. And it will be good.

Is there good cell service or wifi at The Festy?

The Festy Experience takes place in a rural county in the mountains of central Virginia.  Not all cell phone carriers receive service and 3/4G availability is spotty.  From our experience, Sprint and Verizon are fairly reliable however, AT&T is not.

We do not have wifi onsite.  This is part of the experience.  Unplug and enjoy the high country!

Are there showers at The Festy?

Yes. There will be shower stations in two locations this year; at Base Camp and in the family/quiet camp area.
Each camping ticket comes with 2 shower tickets.

Shower hours are Friday – Sunday 8am – 6pm.

Where can I get water and ice?

Ice will be available for purchase at Base Camp.

There will be a water truck in Base Camp everyone will have free access to fill up your water bottles/containers.  There will also be Kleen Kanteen drinking water stations in the concert grounds for your water-bottles/pint cups.

Will I need to bring my own cup/water bottle?

In an effort to reduce a massive amount of waste The Festy does not sell bottled water.
All camping ticket buyers receive a commemorative 2013 Festy pint cup. This may be used at water stations at Base Camp or in the concert grounds and when purchasing beer and cider.
If you have your own water bottle or [non-glass] pint cup that you’d like to use, you’re welcome to bring an empty receptacles into the concert grounds.

Will campfires be permitted in the campgrounds? Do you sell firewood?

  • We will not know if we can allow fires until a few weeks prior to The Festy pending guidelines from the Forest Service.
IF fires are permitted,  the fire protocol noted below will be in place. Please be sensitive to the land and your neighbors.
  • We encourage raised fire pits.  If you’re making your own pit, bring a shovel to remove (and then replace) dirt and stones to set around the perimeter of the pit.
  • PLEASE only clean-burning fires.  DO NOT let your fire smolder.  If we see unattended fires, we will put them out with water or sand.  A camp ground of smoldering/unattended fires leads to poor air quality.
  • DO NOT bring wood from more than 100 miles outside of Nellysford, VA.  This prevents the spread of tree blights, pests, and fungus.
  • We will have firewood for sale at BaseCamp General Store from 8am – 8pm.  You can also get it from “Houston’s Old Green & Black Ford Truck” from 8am – 10pm.  The General Store and the Ford  will be selling 10” x 10” x 18” bundles for $6

May we bring our [well behaved] dog…or other animal to The Festy?

Only certified ADA animals are permitted in the concert and campground areas. No exceptions.
