David Wax Museum is a folk rock band that blends traditional Mexican Son music with Americana roots music. The band’s primary members David Wax and Suz Slezak, who are married, often refer to their music as “Mexo-Americana” because of the meshing of the two traditional genres. The band experienced its breakthrough after winning a contest for a spot at the 2010 Newport Folk Festival, which was also when Paste Magazine dubbed the band “the breakout act” of the festival. David Wax Museum will be releasing their upcoming album, Line of Light, on August 15th. The couple calls Charlottesville, Virginia home.
