They wil not. All tickets are electronic and can be accessed via your smart phone or are print-at home. All pertinent ticket and arrival information may be found on your email confirmation. Please read your email confirmation.
Re-entry to the Concert / Campgrounds
Yes, however no “tailgating” is permitted in the day parking area as it outside the ABC area. If you need to leave the campground, keep this in mind as you may need to communicate with your neighbors to ensure there is an exit path.
ALWAYS keep your wristband on. Treat it like cash.
Reserved Camping versus “Park & Pitch”
Reserved camping will allow festivarians who wish to camp right out of their cars. You and your group will have a guaranteed camping location in the main, quiet, or family camping areas right next to your car. Arrive at anytime after Thursday, October 4th at noon for access to your reserved space.
Park & Pitch style camping is for festivaians who would prefer to park their car and walk (there are NO long hauls) to an area with tents only and scope out the best spot according to your taste. Park & Pitch campers will have access to their vehicle 24 hours a day. Park & Pitch camping is available in both quiet and family camping areas in addition to the main camp grounds. RV buyers, “Park & Pitch” is the corresponding ticket for each adult over 12 years old traveling in your RV.
What is Quiet Camping?
Quiet camping is located at the top of the hill in a more secluded area from the rest of the campgrounds. It has a slightly longer walk (only a few minutes) but is more serene. Quiet camping hours in this area are between the hours of 11pm and 8am. Please communicate and be respectful of your neighbors.
Important Information About RVs
- The Festy has only Primitive RV sites. No hookups or electricity.
- If you have a septic/grey water tank on your RV, we are required to pump it out before you leave the site. There is no additional fee for this service.
- A standard size RV pass is 20′x40′ for a single RV or a vehicle w/ tow trailer. If you have a standard RV pass and would like to park next to a friend in another RV, you must arrive together.
A “RV Double Wide” space is 40′x40′ for a one RV or vehicle w/ tow trailer and up to 2 companion vehicles. - Because of the high demand and limited space to accomodate RVs, you must be driving an RV (standard RV pass) or accompanying an RV (companion pass) to be granted vehicle entry into the RV camping area.
- One RV ticket limit per person for RV passes.
- Once RV passes have sold out, a waiting list will open. The first entries on the waiting list will be granted first right of refusal to any passes that may become available.
- RV CAMPING TICKETS – each adult (over 12 years) arriving in an RV will need a corresponding 3 or 4 day “Park & Pitch” camping ticket. 1 RV pass per RV & 1 camping ticket per adult.
What does/does not qualify as an RV?
Conversion vans and VW busess are NOT RVs.
The following RV vehicles must purchase an RV PASS and camp in RV Camping:
· Class A RV
· Class B RV
· Class C RV
· School Bus
· **SUV or Pick-up pulling a short Pop Up Camper/ 5th wheel/ or towable RV.
When will the activity schedules be released?
The main concert and base camp schedules will be released on or around Tuesday September 4th.
Showers
Yes, we will have showers. Each camping ticket comes with 2 shower tickets. Showers will be located in Base Camp.
Food / Beverages
The food vendors are curated by The Rock Barn. Much effort is made to ensure the food vendors serve locally sourced fare. There will also be a good variety of food from local meats to vegetarian and vegan options.
Much of the beer and all of the wine is from local brewers and wineries. There will be a couple of “macro-brews” available, i.e. something similar to Bud and Bud Light.
Where can I get water and ice?
Ice will be available for purchase at Base Camp.
There will be a water truck in Base Camp everyone will have free access to fill up your water bottles/containers. There will also be drinking water stations in the concert grounds for bottle/cup filling.
Fires
- We will not be able to confirm if fires are allowed until approximately 2 weeks out from the festival. This determination is based upon burn regulations set by the fire marshall.
- If fires are permitted we encourage raised fire pits. If you’re making your own pit, bring a shovel to remove (and then replace) dirt and stones to set around the perimeter of the pit.
- DO NOT bring wood from more than 100 miles outside of Nellysford, VA. This prevents the spread of tree blights, pests, and fungus.
- We will have firewood for sale at Base Camp.
Children’s Activities
The Festy Experience is a family friendly event. For your entire family’s enjoyment we curate the following conveniences and activities:
- Children under the age of 12 years are FREE.
- We have a Family Camping Area that you can camp out of, or next to your vehicle.
- Kids workshops – past workshops have included drum circles, leave no trace camping, hula-hooping
- Central Concert grounds Kids Zone with arts & crafts, hay bales, face-painting and more all in view of the Main and Southern stages
- Field Day Saturday morning with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Blue Ridge
Cell Phone Service / Wifi
The Festy Experience takes place in a rural county in the mountains of central Virginia. Not all cell phone carriers receive service and 3/4G availability is spotty. From our experience, Sprint and Verizon are fairly reliable however, AT&T is not.
We do not have wifi onsite. This is part of the experience. Unplug and enjoy the high country!
Do you have ADA parking / camping?
Accommodations are available for ADA Camping. Registration is required and a State issued handicap permit must be presented to access this area. A Festy Experience camping ticket purchase is required to pre-register for ADA Camping. ADA camping registration will open on Tuesday July 31.
If you require ADA day parking, please have your decal visible and let the parking attendants know when you arrive.
