Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville
Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville (IMCC) is a spiritual community that practices Buddhist insight meditation. IMCC is open to everyone who is interested in insight meditation and offers a variety of programs for new and experienced meditators. These programs consist of guided meditation, dharma talks, retreats, talk radio, and much more. Anyone and everyone interested in trying meditation for the first time is welcome to join IMCC to see what insight meditation is all about. After visiting Ireland in the spring of 2017, Graham Evans refused to return home without bringing back a taste of the Irish ice cream. He was stunned at how good this ice cream was, and he learned that it was because all the dairy in Ireland is grass fed. So he came back home to Charlottesville and launched Bluegrass Creamery. Bluegrass Creamery exists in a retrofitted bus that is parked within IX Art Park, so it will be very accessible throughout the course of The Festy. Tomas Rahal, formerly of MAS Tapas, put in lots of time and effort to convert the old Spudnuts into his new shop called Quality Pie. Mochiko Cville is the brainchild of chef and owner Riki Tanabe, and is located in The Yard at 5th Street Station. Riki was born and raised on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii and also attended college at the University of Hawaii. He never planned on leaving Hawaii, but his culinary career path eventually landed him in Charlottesville. So in 2017 Riki decided to open Mochiko in order to bring the food of Hawaii to the people of Charlottesville.
